Fun Family Nights

For family nights we have really been enjoying going to Thanksgiving Point. This last Monday there was a wet and wild theme. We did all kinds of different "wet" games. The kids have so much fun and that in turn makes Chad and I have a blast. We always run into Chad's sister and her family and some of our friends. It's nice to spend this time with my little family. Without these wonderful kids and Chad my life would sure feel empty. I am so very blessed. Is life always easy- No, but it is always worth it!

St Patricks Day....take 2

Ok, so I really try to keep things straight but I end up messing things up more than I would like to admit. Last Sunday for some odd reason I thought it was St. Patrick's Day. So, Chad and I made green eggs for the kids and I tried to have everyone wear a little green to church. Well, Ty did not have any green on so I had some hair spray color that was green and he was excited about having green hair. I sprayed a little on the tips of his hair and it looked pretty good. Not too much (I don't think) to go to church. I ask Garrett if he would like me to do it to his hair too and he looked at me funny and said no.
So, I'm feeling pretty good no one is going to get pinched. Ty's loving his hair. Church gets over and we are now feeding the kids lunch when the boys come around to our house to gather fast offerings and we get the news letter. I look at it and notice the 17th says " make sure to not get pinched". I just bust out laughing and tell Chad. I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard. We tell the kids and Garrett tells me he knew it wasn't today and that is why he did not want me to spray his hair green. Boy, that would have helped me if he would have told me. Also, Garrett's teacher at church asks Garrett why his brothers hair is green.
I can't believe the stuff I do, I really try to be the best Mom and some times I just have to sit and laugh.
So, now that it is the "real" St. Patrick's Day we started out with green pancakes and we all got dressed in green. Today Garrett did let me spray his hair. Ash did not love that I sprayed his hair. I made a yummy green dinner with green ice cream cones for dessert. I am now chalking this St. Patrick's Day as being over!

When we were getting a lot of snow the boys went out and did
some service of shoveling. I have to say I was a little proud :)

Halloween Fun!!

We took the kids to Cornbelly's with some of Chad's family. We had a lot of fun. Half the time we didn't know where Garrett was because he was off with his cousins running around doing all of the fun things.

I found a pumpkin patch in Draper that I took the kids to with my sisters. We were able to find our pumpkins and they had a few activities to do. They also sold apple juice from there apples and also had apple donuts. They were very good I was told.

Ty was given one of Garrett's T ball hats. He loved it. I was putting him to bed and he wanted to sleep with the hat. I told him I would put it on his bed but not to wear it. So, I went to check on him and this is what I found. This little guy sleeping with his hat on. It is moments like these that make my heart so full. I just love these 3 little boys. It is also moments like these that make me LOVE being a mom. I mean I love being a mom but there are special moments.
My little Ash. You just eat him up. Lately, Chad and I just can't seem to get enough on him. He is so fun and just does the funniest things.

Garretts Kindy 500

For school we had to make a car out of a box for the Kindy 500. This is where the kids go and learn all about the USA. I think this was a lot of fun for him. Chad and I did not love making the car so much but in the end it was worth it. Garrett sang patriotic songs and then they had a parade. He only has a few weeks left and then he is going to be a 1st grader. I can not believe it. I'm excited for no school for a while. Yeah!!!

A little trip to St. George

Our trips to St. George includes a lot of pool time. My kids love to be outside and love to play in the water. I also love to be in the sun and feel warm. It was beautiful weather while we were there.

I am 21 weeks prego with a little girl.

We really tried to venture out and find new things to do. We found this Temple Quarry Trail and hiked for a little while. Garrett and Ty really wanted to find lizards. Chad is never one to disappoint... he was able to find a few.

Ash loved the hike as well. I was just a little nervous. He was a little more adventurous than I would like.

Chad caught 2 lizards. he is holding them in his hands. This was Garrett's favorite part of the trip (he said). Ash did not want to walk anymore once he saw the lizards running around on the ground. It was pretty funny.

These pictures were taken at the Narrows. It was a lot of fun to hike around on the rocks. There were all these holes and caves that the kids found so fun to go and sit in. It was a lot of fun.

There is one part and I don't know what to call it other than the "crack" that is a very thin space that you can climb up. Chad and I were too big to go through so Garrett climbed up it by himself twice. He loved it and loved climbing around on the rocks. He is getting too big.

It was very nice to get away for a few days with our little family. We love going to St. George and staying at the Sports Village. They have a great pool and a great park that my kids love to play at. We had great food and found fun things to do. I love making these fun memories.

Ty's SurGery

We were waiting at the hospital for Ty's turn.

Ty was not excited about getting in this gown. That was a hard one. But there was a nice lady who came in and gave Ty a doll that he could draw a face on and that had on a gown just like Ty. That was really fun for him.

Ty needed some love from Mom. It was nice to hold him and be with him. He wanted his doll and his slushy. We watched tv for a little while until it was time to go.

Ty has been really sick for a very long time. He always has ear infection or sinus infections. He has a hard time breathing out of his nose. The poor kid has been on antibiotic after antibiotic. It really breaks my heart. I finally took him back to the ENT and she recommended removing his adnoids. I thought that would be a great idea. So, the other night Chad and I started noticing that Ty is not hearing that well. I called the dr and asked if we could do tubes again because I dont think he is hearing like he should be. So today the dr did a hearing test and of course Ty did not pass. The dr came out and said that that was actually the hardest part of the surgery because there was so much fluid in his ears. It's no wonder my poor little Ty was struggling so badly. It was hard to see my little guy go in and be put under but I knew it was for his best interest. I love Ty so much. These 3 little boys have my heart. I know that Ty is not going to read this but I just want to tell him that I love him so much!

OnE DowN and MaNy MorE to GO

So, I have been trying to finish my kids rooms. But, it is taking me more time than I thought. I decided to do bead-board in Garrett and Ty's room. That is a big project. To those out there who are thinking of doing this my advise is to hire it out. I have to say I am happy with the way there walls have turned out and now it is time for the fun part. It is now time for furniture and decorations. I will have to show pictures when the room is complete. But, now it is time to start thinking of what to do for little Ash. I want every room to be fun and different. This is always fun to make your home nice and unique.

I am happy and very excited to say we are adding a new little one to our family in August. I found out the other day that it is going to be a GIRL. I can not explain the kind of excitement that I am feeling. I think this will add a fun dynamic to my family of boys. Garrett is so excited. He always said he wanted a sister. He has been helping me think of names. The latest are Silania and Reagon. He is too cute. I have these 3 boys that are going to be her little protectors. Not to mention Chad. He is going to be such a cute father to a little girl. Little does she know that she already has her father wrapped around her little finger. I have been getting some clothes and it is so much fun to go shopping for her and actually be in the girl section. I will keep you posted!

Our latest

It has been a little while since I have put in a new post. It seems like all of January and February the kids, Chad, or I have been sick. I am not even kidding. We have had one thing after another. I was at one point crying because I could not handle it anymore. I had everyone throwing up all of the time and no sleep at nights. We were at the Dr. s office all of the time. I am thankful for the better weather lately. I am hoping that we are done being sick and that spring can get here soon.

Garretts 6th Birthday

Garrett had a wonderful 6th Birthday. He was able to wake up and open up some presents. I took cupcakes in to his kindergarten class. I picked him up from the bus stop and brought him and some friends to McDonald's for lunch. That was really fun for the boys. Garrett started basketball and had his first game that night. He did great and made 3 baskets. We then went home and had pizza, cake and ice cream. He then opened up a few more presents. What a great Birthday.

Christmas

Christmas was wonderful this year. Chad, me, and the kids were all spoiled rotten. But we had many fun events and parties to go to which made it so fun. We went to Wade and Cher's for Christmas Eve and that was a lot of fun. The kids put a video together and it is on Utube.

Lights at Temple Square

We decided to go and see the lights at Temple Square. We went with Chad's brother and his family. We thought it would be fun to ride tracks down town. Note to all: Not fun if you have little ones. But it was a nice night out. We ate at Gateway Mall and then walked over to Temple Square. The kids had an absolute blast even though it was so cold.

Cornbellys

We took the kids to Cornbellys at Thanksgiving Point. To be honest it was not that great. We have been a few times in years past and we thought it was a blast. This year it didn't seem like there was much for the kids to do. What they did have the kids played on and had fun but for the price you have to pay to get in I don't think I would recommend it. But, it was a fun little Halloween activity. I am sad to say that I have not taken the kids to too many Halloween activities. I usually am right on top of it. Oh well, we are still enjoying the new season.

Ty's Hulk Birthday Party

We were in Disneyland for Ty's Birthday so we decided to give him a late Birthday party. He wanted a Hulk Birthday so that is what he got. We had everyone dress up in the super hero costumes. We ate pizza and played. I think it was a success. Happy Birthday Ty. It is sad to see my kids get older.

Top Of Utah Marathon

I ran the Top of Utah Marathon. I was able to run it with my friend Kasey and her husband Trevor. It sure pushes your body. I did really well until we hit about the 20 mile mark. I started cramping in my legs. Chad was a big help. He ran the last 3 miles with me. Chad was a great sport. He waited for me while I ran. He dropped me off at the park at around 4:30 am. He must really love me. Thanks to my brother Justin and his wife Julie they watched the kids for us so I was able to run in this race. I said right after the race that I would never do another marathon but now that I am thinking about it maybe I will do another. We will see.

This is a sweet picture of my Mom and me. This song "Ain't nothin gonna break my stride" was our theme song. When ever one of us had a bad day we would call and tell each other to turn on the radio and we would start singing it.
Today is my Mom's Birthday. She would be turning 60. My Mom past about three years ago. So my family goes to her grave and we sing Happy Birthday and let balloons go. We let off 60. This is such a special time for us. I love doing this. My family can talk, be together, and reminisce about my Mom.

I love that we do this. I try to tell my kids about my Mom so they know her. Garrett was only 2 and he does not remember much.

Not having my Mom around is very hard, I miss her every day. She was my Best Friend. I know when ever I talk about my Mom only good things come out. No she was not perfect but she was just so great! I could tell her anything and she would give me great advise. Let me name a few of her great qualities: She was the BEST Mom, the best cook, a great example, Christ like, always had a positive attitude and a good out look on life, most of the time you would see her with a smile on her face, she could always make things right. I try to be like my Mom on a daily basis. If I can be even half the Mom/Women she was I don't think my kids will turn out half bad. I hope that everyone loves their Mom and appreciates them. No they are not perfect but they love you and are their for you!

Bear Lake

While we were at Bear Lake we went to Paris Idaho to pick up some other 4 wheelers. Chad's friends have some horses over in Pairs. The kids thought they were so cool. A little nervous at first but loved feeding them.

Ashton also thought the horses were very cool. He also thought crawling around was the best. He is now standing and walking a few steps. He's a smarty

Chad and his friend Brent. Thanks Brent for the great weekend! Chad and I loved going out on the wave runners. We had a great ride. Chad is a little more daring then me. But we were laughing the whole time.

Chad and Garrett love'n the 4 wheelers. Garrett was a little nervous at first but then loved them.
All I can say is that boys, cars, tractors, and trucks go hand in hand. The kids had a great time playing on the sand and finding sea shells.

On Saturday it was cold and rainy. We went for a 4 wheeler ride in Paris. By this time the kids would actually let us go fast on the 4 wheelers.

Off they go. Ty kept up with Garrett on his bike pretty good. Lots of kids and not enough room to ride. But still lots of fun.

After the parade we went back to the church for a nice breakfast. We didn't really have any plans for the day. We ended up going to American Fork pool and swimming. Once we were all pooled out we went and got some dinner and headed home to play in the backyard. Fun day with the fam! I love those days.

Chad really is the best!! He came home the other day with 2 dozen roses and a big box of nibs. He really knows what I love. It really was the best. It was such a surprise. There I was just having a regular day, very busy as usual, and there is my cute hubby with sweetness. I love you Chad.

The Holt Family Weekend

We started Friday going on a hike to Long Lake. We used to go hiking and camping here as kids all of the time. This hike and seeing the lake brought back a lot of fun memories. Made me miss my Mom a lot!

Chad was a good sport. He doesn't really enjoy hiking because he ends up carrying the kids. He carried Ty the whole way done. He really is a good sport. He knew this was really important to me. I love going back in time to fond memories. I love you Chad.
This picture was actually on the way back down. I had just fallen on some rocks. I am just glad that Ashton did not get hurt. He was so done with this hike. He was crying and screaming at this point. You can tell by the look on my face and his how much fun we were having at this point.

This is called the lay out rock. We used to always come and lay on this rock and relax. Fun memories.

Garrett and Ty are afraid of dogs. They really loved playing with Koa. Maybe the fear is gone.

Saturday we all went to Seven Peaks. It was a blast. I hung with Ash and did baby things but everyone helped with my kids and they were able to go down the slides and have a great time.

Sunday we went up American Fork Canyon and had a hot dog roast. It was fun to be with everyone and the kids loved it.

Oquirrh Mountain open house and Seven Peaks

We took the kids to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. I thought it was so nice that the kids could go and see the temple and go inside. Garrett really loved it and we were able to explain a lot to him. Ty really liked the animals.

My friends and I take the kids to Seven Peaks about once a week. It is nice to get out of the house, let the kids play with their friends, and to enjoy the summer day with some friends.
Garrett is getting crazy around the water. He is getting to be pretty good at swimming.

We were able to participate in a show at the Traverse mountain BBQ. We were learning how to do different dances.
The 4th of July was so much fun this year. It was filled with fun activities. Maddie and Paul were in town and staying with us for a few days. Kids were so much fun and excited to be with their cousins. We started the day off with going to the Provo parade. That was very fun but very hot. Then we went swimming and then off to the traverse mountain activity. They put on a BBQ and an out door movie. They also have fun blow up slides and things for the kids. We then went and watched the fireworks up by our house. By that time kids were exhausted and ready for bed. Fun memories.
